Bob Mitchell - Songwriter, Lyricist and Producer

As a Songwriter/Lyricist/Producer I work with artists in all genres of music.

BUT really, it all started with Tamla Motown Legend “Jimmy Ruffin” whom I met in the later stages of his career. We had a number of singles released, receiving great reviews but not the required radio exposure – So no hit ! Ironically, I went Gold on Tamla Motown, but sadly not with Jimmy.

Whilst living and wasting in Hollywood (as one does and should) I went Platinum with “The Flame” recorded by Cheap Trick. It was in L.A. I was introduced to French Synth/Dance/Conceptional artist “Cerrone”. This led to much LA to Paris commuting culminating with me living in Paris writing with Cerrone, “Dream” an Album and Show which was destined to open in Tokyo, eventually playing Broadway (Ed Sullivan theatre). I have returned on many occasions working on Shows/Albums/Projects (Paris remains one of my favorite cities).

My UK songwriting origins can be traced back to artists such as:

  • Asia
  • Elkie Brooks
  • Colin Blunstone
  • Jackie Graham
  • Imagination
  • Katrina
  • Dan McCafferty (Nazareth)
  • Francis Rossi
  • Jimmy Ruffin
  • Jennifer Rush
  • Sinitta
  • Simon Cowell
(a hugely loyal person to those whom truly know him)
  • John Wetton
  • Ellie Warren

So no surprises I continue to work with a diversity of artists.

Cheap Trick, Fiona, Erin Hamilton, House Of Lords, Jetboy, Hanna Jones, Kon Kan, Precious Metal, Nia Peeples, Colorhaus (a band evolved together with UK musician Phil Radford and Australian singer Sherrie Kren aka (Sherrie Austin) signed to Jimmy Iovine on “Interscope”, Laura Branigan, Sam Harris, Milli Jackson, Marilyn Martin, Nia Peeples
